About the Artists:
Between Queens is a hilarious stage show where the audience gets in on the fun. We start with stand up comedy from four of the funniest ladies on the east coast, and then it’s turn up time! We wanna hear your two cents on all our comical topics. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your spouse. Don’t worry – anything you say can’t and won’t be used against you. We’ll keep it Between Queens!
Apple Brown Betty is a powerhouse performer with a trajectory that is out of this world. Raised in Richmond VA, her charming, southern sensibility allows her to approach topics that many shy away from with ease. Betty has graced the biggest stages in comedy, including The World Famous Comedy Store, The Hollywood Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv, The DC Improv, The DC Comedy Loft and the legendary Apollo Theater. Betty has also blazed stages in the Willingboro Comedy Festival, the Because They’re Funny Festival and the American Black Film Festival.
Donna Lewis is a native of Harlem, NY. She has performed all over the country, including The DC Comedy Loft and Hollywood Laugh Factory. She’s also a crowd favorite at celebrated comedy festivals like The Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest, Big Pine and Sixth City. Donna even founded her own improv group, Lemon Pepper and Sazon Comedy. Her tenacity, natural humor and “fearless-after-fifty” spirit aids her in her accomplishments.
Liz Barlow is a standup comic, writer and actor from Virginia Beach,VA. Her unabashed takes on motherhood, politics and the world that surrounds us ,is a fresh take on old institutions. She has been seen on TVOne, Zanies in Nashville and the Charlotte Comedy Zone. Liz is a regular at The DC Improv, where she is a four-time winner of their Comedy Kumite competition. (http://www.dcimprov.com/kumite-hall-of-fame) and she’s VA area Funny Bone staple. Additionally, she’s also an accomplished essayist, having been published several times in the Huffington Post.
D.Lo is a rising comedian from Baltimore MD. Known for her quick wit and comebacks, she is a spitfire on the mic. She has broadened her span of experience by performing in clubs including DC Improv, Comedy Loft of DC, Magoobys, The Port Comedy Club, Riddles, Funnybone (VA Beach, Richmond and Connecticut), Kansas City Improv and Helium St. Louis. She has performed all over the country with the likes of Mark Normand, Sam Morrill, Roy Wood, Rich Voss, Yamaneika Saunders, Jackie Fabulous, Damon Williams, Just Nesh, Sam Jay, Gina Yashere, Pierre, Michael Rappaport and various others.
